Silly Girl

Morgan is cracking me up these days!!!! Here new favorite words which I'm sure I say quite often and don't realize are Cool, I know, and NOW!!! One of these words are in every sentence or phrase that comes out of her mouth these days.

For example:

Mommy: Morgan your such a cutie
Morgan: I know
Mommy: you are wearing a pretty dress
Morgan: I know

or

Mommy: Let's read some books
Morgan: Cool
Mommy: Would you like to color?
Morgan: Cool

and my favorite

While waiting to make a left turn out of our neighborhood Monday night I hear Morgan from the back seat say GO, NOW!!! She really wanted to get to the library fast :)

and the list goes on and on, she is such a little cutie!!!

Birthday Week

Conner had a busy week of parties, after Christmas and his Birthday he probably thinks he gets presents all year round :)
Saturday prior to his birthday - sledding party with friends

We wanted to do something fun for Conner's birthday with his friends but having a winter birthday limits you to lots of things unless you want to spend a lot of cash so we decided to just make a fun Saturday morning of sledding with friends. It was kind of a last minute idea so everyone we invited weren't able to make it but we got a good turn out and had lots of fun!! We hadn't been to Johnson park yet this year but I heard it was a lot of fun and boy was it ever......huge hills!! The kids had a blast and the dad's and mom's got a real good workout bringing the kids back up the hill.
The group: (L to R) Mandy, Joel, Morgan, Lucy, Kennidee, Beth, Michael, Jason, Tyler, Conner and Ryan

Same group minus Beth and add me at the end.

Beth and Michael

Mandy and Lucy

Joel and Ryan....silly boys!

Joel and Ryan a few minutes later...haha!

The hill...you can see Joel and Ryan starting their walk back up but that was not the end of the hill...you pretty much went all the way to the trees that line the road.

Tuesday - party at preschool

We made rice crispies with sprinkles and Conner personally made each kid a beaded bracelet with their name on it. He did such a good job putting them all together and picking out colors. The kids LOVED them and he really enjoyed handing them out!

Wednesday - chocolate shakes

We had already had two parties so on Wednesday his actual birthday I wanted to do something special but nothing over the top. Last year I attempted to make home made donuts....was not a success so this year we just made his favorite dinner and made chocolate shakes for dessert. Can't mess that up and the kids LOVED them!!!

Saturday - family party

Opening presents...Auntie Jenny got a little something for Morgan so she wouldn't feel left out...so sweet, Thanks Jen!

Each year I make a cake for Conner based on whatever is his favorite thing that year. His first one was a typical cake since he was only one, his second was Thomas, and third was a fire truck....and this year was a Construction Cake....I think was my favorite and probably the easiest to be honest...you could make a mistake and no one would know it since it had dirt all over.

My little munchkin getting ready

Conner with his new truck he assembled.

Our Baby Bryce....after finally snagging him from my mom (baby hog) this was how I ended the party....awe babies....love them!

Conner in his sweater that Great Grandma made him....love how it brings out his blue eyes!

Allergy Testing

After our ER trip in WI over the holiday's our pediatrician wanted us to see an allergist to see if Conner was allergic to any other foods besides peanuts and to see if his severity to the allergy had changed since his last contact with them a little over a year and a half ago. We were also questioning sesame since that was one of the products in the gravy he had that caused a reaction.

I was not really looking forward to this 3 hour appointment and was hoping it wasn't going to be too traumatic for an almost 4 year old. I really didn't know what to expect but after asking around I felt a little bit better, it all depended on how Conner reacted to the scratches that could make or break this appointment.

Conner was an absolute trooper (I guess two ER visits have prepared him for anything)...no tears only a few whines and moans but did GREAT!!!! As you can see from the pictures it wasn't a comfortable procedure since each reaction causes itching. Conner's skin is very reactive and at first when every spot started showing up red I really thought oh dear....is he going to test positive to all 49 items....thank goodness, the items that didn't have an allergy went away after a few minutes and the ones that did stayed for a few hours even a day and half for the peanut one.

49 different test.

Peanut reaction on left...it went over two other tests so he had to be re-tested on his arm for them.

The two bigger spots on the second row are cat and dog.....no pets for us :)

Finally results....still highly allergic to peanuts and very very slim chance of out-growing it...now an additional allergy to brazil nuts and cashews which are tree nuts (we already stayed away from all nuts but now we must). Thankfully no more food allergies other than a re-test on sesame in February to make sure he is officially not allergic. Highly allergic to cats and dogs but only sniffles and congestion...we will just have him take zyrtec before visiting houses with pets but looks like pets might not be in our future unless he outgrows this. Also a few tree, dust allergies that we already experienced this past summer...zyrtec is now our favorite drug :)

Thank you to all our family and friends that are inconvenienced due to these allergies, we sometimes feel very over protective and annoying but it's something we have to constantly think about since this is a life threatening allergy and if we are not super careful could be fatal. We are so thankful for such understanding people in our lives!!!!! God will not give us more than we can handle and we are so blessed to have such wonderful Children, Family and Friends!!!!

Over due!!!!

Ok so this is WAY OVERDUE...and instead of trying to post a million posts I'm just going to post a snippit of what's been going on around here for the past few months and then I'll be back on track :)

Santa Clause Parade downtown GR.

Conner's first big screen movie....UP!

My Little Reindeer! Lots of crafts the past few weeks while schools been out.

Proudly holding our newest cousin...Bryce Evan!

Lots of outdoor play lately...the kids love the snow and they don't care one bit about how cold it is....thank goodness for my wonderful Mother getting me a new winter jacket for Christmas....or should I say a winter jacket period...I was wearing a sweatshirt and vest...crazy!

You'll notice Morgan sporting her cheese smile in mostly every picture.....what a goof ball!

My attempt at a picture with the reindeer...which you can barely see in the background. Neither one wanted to get close enough for a pic...Conner was crying and Morgan was yelling no.

Sledding

Snow angels!

Our try at a snowman...not packing snow but Morgan liked the head anyway!

More Christmas pics to come!
