Conner had his 3 year check up yesterday and of course he was off the charts in height!!!
41 inches tall (100%) and 38 1/2 lbs (90%)
He passed all the other tests with flying colors, even the hearing test so it must be selective hearing that he has...hehehehe :)

New Found Courage
Morgan has been taking around 3-6 steps for the past week or two and always seemed to stop after that, go down and then proceed to crawl fast (I think she knew she could get there faster by crawling). Not to mention she would get so excited that she would end up falling....and yet every time she took a spill, it followed with a smile and giggle.
In the past two days she has found her courage and has taken off. She went from 3-6 steps to walking across the whole living room and even taking off from the couch or me. Watch out, here is comes!!!
Conner has also been learning new things lately. When we go to the library I always let him pick out new books and a new dvd to take home....lately he has been picking from the educational dvd section which has made me very happy. One that he recently picked was Signing time with Alex and Leah and he LOVES it! It's basically sign language and the one he picked out was a zoo train that took you around the zoo to all the animals and showed you how to sign them along with a song. Morgan has also been a huge fan and bops to the music as well. The other night at dinner Ryan and I were signing the animals and Conner knew almost every one....what a smarty!!!

My Special Day.....Bowling
Conner and his buddy Noah turn 3 ten days apart, so my girlfriend Kari and I decided to have a little kids party for the boys. We wanted to keep it small and focus on their special day, they were able to invite one kid each. It worked out perfect that Martin Luther King Jr. Day (a bank holiday) was the day before Conner's b-day so Ryan and the other daddy's had the day off. I had my step-mom (my go to gal for a daytime babysitter) watch Morgan for the afternoon and Conner was so excited we were leaving Morgan home...brothers :)
We took them bowling for the first time and they LOVED IT!!! All the kids had a blast, bowled a full game, ate pizza and cupcakes and even had fun chasing each other up and down an empty hallway using fake keys to open the lockers :) Got to love kids imaginations.
A few highlights of my day:
- I over heard Noah telling Conner they weren't babies, that they were big boys now :)
- Conner got a strike and was the top scorer, although the other three were right behind him. Conner 89, Noah 80, Michael 76, Kennidee 74.
- Kennidee escaping to the bathroom only to return in only her shirt and pull up :)
- A wonderful day spent with family and great friends!
We weren't sure if the kids would have fun and we had nothing to worry about....they took to the game with ease and really enjoyed pushing the ball down to the pins and could hardly wait for their turn next (thankfully we had two lanes for four kids :)....although the ball return was a major highlight and sometimes I think they enjoyed that more than the actual bowling :) Conner has been talking about it non-stop and wants to go back soon. His first big boy party was a success!!!!

My Big Boy Party!!
It is so hard to believe my little man in now 3!! He truly is a Wonderful Blessing sent from above and has brought us such joy over the years....here is to many more!!!
Each year I make a cake....this year Conner was old enough to want to pick it out, thankfully he didn't pick too hard of one. I'm good at baking but not always so hot at decorating...I always picture it better than it turns out :) at least Conner likes it and that's all that counts, right??
Here are a few pic from our family party.

Daddy, Conner and Mommy with the firetruck cake...I tried to get him to wear a fireman's hat but he was having nothing to do with it :)

Blowing out the candles!!!
Enjoying the final product :)
Morgan took over this present :)

Morgan and Auntie Jesse
Build a Dino
Grandma Wittenbach (my step-mom) took Conner to Build a Bear Workshop for his Birthday. He was so cute picking out the dinosaur but once it came to making it he just stood back and watching....he wanted nothing to do with that machine :) She was able to get him to do the special little thing with the heart to put inside but other than that he kept his distance. He did enjoy giving it a bath afterwards.

Like Brother, Like Sister
I thought this was so adorable....so of course I had to get a quick pic. This is Morgan and Conner last night after their bath. We turned on a quick video while getting them ready for bed and they were mesmerized!

This is Morgan at 10 months....apparently another fan of the newspaper :)

This is Conner around 10/11 months....he loved destroying the newspaper every Sunday :)

Almost 3
My little man is going to be 3 in less than 2 weeks!! I can't believe it!!!
One of the things on my list to do is to update my photos in the house and get wallets to family and friends of both Conner and Morgan (I've been taking pictures but not sharing the love). Yesterday was so nice and sunny we decided to take Conner's 3 year pics, while Morgan was napping I even took a few outside (only a few before we got cold and heading inside but at least one turned out). I attempted Morgan's 10 month as well but she was having none of it so I'll have to try them later this week.
Here are some cute ones of my little man, what a big boy!!!!

My first 3 steps!!!!
Yipee...I can do it! Yes, that's right Morgan has taken her first 3 steps and is getting better at it each day. She turned 10 months this past weekend and is acting more like she thinks she 12 months..hehe
It was nice to finally get back to a regular schedule this week, with all those midweek vacation days I was all messed up on what day it actually was :)
Morgan seems to be learning something new every day, she is such an active little girl and is always on the move and wanting to do what her big brother is doing. She loves to dance and bop to the music and almost always has a huge smile on her face. Lately we have been seeing if she would walk back in forth to Ryan and I, she loves to stand up all by herself and gets so excited when she knows she is doing it...Monday night she actually took her first two almost three steps to each of us...I was so excited and could tell she was too by the HUGE smile on her face...and it's just the beginning...oh no! :) The past few nights and days she has taken a few more...today at the library she actually took four all by herself, she must have saw something she wanted cause off she went. I can already she Conner and Morgan chasing each other down the hall :)
Some new tricks and old tricks:
Gives hi-five
Waves hi and goodbye (a new trick and a favorite)
Points out your nose and mouth when asked
Walks with one hand and any walking toy
Stands on her own and has actually started squatting to pick up toys and returning to standing position.
Loves to rock in her rocking chair
Becoming a climbing or at least trying to climb on everything!!
Taking her first few steps
I know I say this every time but man they grow up too fast!!!
Her are a few pics of my BIG girl! Her 10 month pictures will be coming soon, she's a mover so they might be a bit hard this time.

Christmas Celebrations
We had a fun filled Christmas this year. Conner was old enough to really enjoy it and Morgan enjoyed the paper more than the presents :)
We started our celebrating the Saturday before Christmas. With all the snow we were getting we were lucky that Saturday was clear enough for a quick day trip to Indiana to celebrate with the Haartman's. It was originally a weekend trip but due to the crazy weather we had to change plans at the last minutes. We got on the road right after breakfast and returned home around 9pm, thankfully we made it home right before another huge snow storm Sunday morning!!! As always the cousins had a blast together and the adults enjoyed the day also. This was Morgan's first experience with unwrapping presents so she wasn't too into it but Conner had it down pat :)
On our way home that night our check engine light came on :( Sunday morning I woke up with a bad head cold that lasted all through the week, thankfully it became bearable on Christmas Eve so I was able to enjoy all the get-togethers...so needless to say the first of the week was a bit hectic with me being sick yet again (hoping the kids wouldn't get it too), Ryan and I carting the car back and forth to get fixed during the horrible weather..only to get it home and now something still wasn't right, returning Christmas Eve morning for them to tighten the bolts they forgot :(.
Thankfully come Wednesday the weather let up once again so we were able to go celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family. We had an early dinner with the whole Wittenbach family and then stopped off at my dad's to open presents there too. By now Morgan had the unwrapping down too and actually wanted to eat the paper rather than play with her toys :)
Christmas Morning we woke up with a few stocking stuffers for the kids and a Happy Birthday song to Jesus. Conner got a micro phone for a gift so he lead the signing...it was way too cute! Later that day my Mom, Step dad and sister came over for lunch and presents. Needless to say the kids were very spoiled but we are so thankfully to have such loving families and were very happy to be able to spend time with each one. We are so Blessed!!
The Sunday after Christmas we got together with our group of friends and their kids. This has been a tradition for the past 5 years....the group has definitely grown over the years from 10 to 18 in the past 3 years, we are all so blessed to have such wonderful kids and they have so much fun playing together. Thanks for another year of great fun, great company and great food gang!!!

Lost in the Holidays!
Ok, so you probably have thought I fell off the face of the earth :) It's been a while since I have posted and I have soooooooo many pictures from Christmas. Things have just been so busy that when I get time to post, the last thing I want to do is think (especially since I'm so behind I know it won't be a quick upload)....instead I grab a book, read a little and head to bed. Morgan has been waking up so early for the past month, I don't dare stay up too late, some nights I was even in bed by 830/9p!!! I am NOT a morning mommy :) Thankfully the past two mornings she has slept into almost 8am...drastic difference from her 530/6a wake ups this past month......of course as soon as she starts sleeping in my precious almost 3 year old goes from sleeping into 830/9a to 6:45a this morning...I can't win!!!!
My guess is she was going through a growth spurt since she barely could wait for me to walk across the room to give her her bottle and then she proceeded to suck down 6-8oz. That and she seems to be constantly teething since she was 4 months old...just yesterday I noticed two more teeth have popped through, this makes it a whopping 8 teeth!
Well, I promise I'll upload my pictures tonight and update the blog...then hopefully I'll be back on track. Hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Can't believe it's January already and my little man will be 3 in just 15 days....he's growing up too quickly :(
