Pumpkin Vs. Squirrel

This story starts out like any other...Thursday Conner didn't have school because of Teacher Conventions so while Morgan took her nap Conner and I carved his pumpkin... he picked out the carving, watched mommy gut the pumpkin (you would think he would like this part but every year he won't even touch a seed) then helped mommy carve out Thomas the Tank Engine...he was so proud of it when we put it outside on our doorstep. The following day we went out to see and you can imagine the disappointment he had on his face when he saw Thomas as one big whole...yep, a squirrel or something ate through the pumpkin destroying Thomas. :(

So Saturday afternoon we pulled Thomas in to re-carve the side...daddy helped Conner fix his pumpkin and mommy helped Morgan carve her first pumpkin...apparently it's a sibling thing cause she wanted nothing to do with gutting either. Maybe Conner gave her the low down when I wasn't looking? Anyway, she really enjoyed everything else and as you can see from the pictures at the end she was just as excited as Conner.

Fast forward to the following day....squirrel 3, pumpkins 0....not only did this mean squirrel destroy now Morgan's pumpkin but it took off with a small whole pumpkin as well....seriously give us our fun.

At least I got to enjoy some very yummy pumpkins seeds after all my hard work!!
