Camping Summer 2009

Our first vacation of the summer was camping with friends at Sandy Pines....it truly was a very fun time and Conner told us every night that this was the best camping trip ever!! Since we have only camped one other time since he has been born it seems funny but coming from his mouth with such excitement just brings a smile to your face and makes all the work pay off!!

The first night was a bit rough to say the least....Ryan was ready to head home every night to sleep since we were only about 30 minutes from GR....but I put my foot down and told him it would get better....the first night somewhere new is never good sleep. The kids went down great because they were sooooo tired from the fun afternoon but around 2am Morgan work up and thought since she could see me it was time to play....she joined me in bed until 4:45am! Most of the time she would lay down but just as I started to drift off she would poke my face and start giggling....which then woke up Conner in the next room...this went on all night! Thankfully she fell back asleep until around 7am....the rest of the time the kids took great naps and slept fine at night and we even got a little adult time at the campfire while the kids were sleeping.

This camp ground has so much to do we never left the place the whole time...the best part about it is driving your golf cart everywhere you go, the kids had a blast!!

All in all it was a successful vacation, we are definitely only a 3 night 4 day camping family...we were all ready to get home and in our own beds. The hardest thing for me about camping is everything is sooo dirty, 5 minutes after taking a shower you feel dirty again..ugh!
